SILHOUETTES RESTAURANT & LOUNGE (Valsayn, Trinidad) Opened on 16th January 2015 at Valpark Shopping Plaza, the current menu includes appetizers, sushi and dessert. RUBY TUESDAY (Gulf City, San Fernando, Trinidad) –Opened on 30th January at Gulf City Mall. Hours are Sunday-Thursday: 11am – 11pm and Friday – Saturday: 11am – 1am (868) 653-6566.

REDD’S (Chaguanas, Trinidad) Serving “famously tender loving” fried chicken, sandwiches, fries, coleslaw, garlic bread and combo meals, REDD’S opened in January 2015. REDD’S is halaal and has the Certificate of Halaal Approval from Darul Uloom. Hours are Sunday – Thursday: 10am -10pm and Friday and Saturday: 10am – Midnight. MAKO BAKE & HOPS SANDWICH BAR & SUSHI EXPRESS ON A ROLL (Woodbrook, Trinidad) opened at the corner of Alfredo Street and Ariapita Avenue.

SWEET NOTHINGS (El Socorro, Trinidad) is moving from its Woodbrook location on 1st February 2015 to Midland Centre at the corner of Cyprus Road and Churchill Roosevelt Highway. (868) 320-9615 or 356-5067.

NEW MENUS, NEW HOURS & OTHER NEWS

OYSTER BAY WINES launched in Trinidad this week via Massy Distribution. Three wines from Oyster Bay’s Marlborough region – a Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and a Sauvignon Blanc, and a Merlot from its Hawke’s Bay region. The wines are available at select restaurants including KRAVE (San Fernando), LA CANTINA (Port of Spain), SAMURAI (Woodbrook), THE PORT (Woodbrook) and JAFFA AT THE OVAL, among others. Until February 2nd, these restaurants will also be running a “buy one glass, get one glass free” special promotion.

JOSHUA’S, ON THE CORNER (Port of Spain, Trinidad) added a $50 daily lunch buffet 11am-3pm.  The buffet menu changes daily, recent menu featured Mixed Rice, Macaroni Salad, Red Beans, and Baked Chicken or Fish. In addition, JOSHUA’S has three new features — Happy HourValentine’s Day Competition and a Student/Kids Menu(868) 622-7830

HOME CAFE TT (St. Clair, Trinidad) is now offering a Saturday breakfast option in addition to its daily breakfast (8am-10:30am) and lunch (11:30am-3pm) service. Email cafe@home.co.tt for reservations.

TASTE OF INDIA, East Indian Cuisine (Debe, Trinidad) currently operating as a caterer will be opening a Dhaba, a streetside takeout restaurant in March 2015.  Link to Taste of India website(868) 341-4154.

KANOA CAFE GOURMET (West Mall, West Moorings, Trinidad) promising “a fine dining experience” at West Mall, Kanoa will be located on the Upper Level, South Side.

VIAAA GOURMET BAKERY & RESTAURANT (Marabella and Point Fortin, Trinidad) – VIAAA will be opening two new locations in Marabella at Tarouba Plaza and in Point Fortin in the next few months.

DENNY’S (Maraval, Trinidad)– Construction at the new Denny’s on Saddle Road is moving along. (Denny’s is a chain restaurant based in the United States.)
