NEW RESTAURANTS IN TRINIDAD

LUCE at the Hilton Trinidad (Port of Spain, Trinidad) Opened this month serving a tapas-style menu of sushi, appetizers, desserts, etc. in a gorgeous space with an absolutely fantastic view!  Hours are 5pm-11pm, Tuesday to Thursday and 6pm-12 midnight, Friday & Saturday. PITA PIT (St. Augustine, Trinidad) added a third location with a UWI outlet on March 11th.  Hours are Monday – Friday, 10am-9pm, and Saturday, 10am-6pm.  (868) 645-5096.

UPPER CRUST PATISSERIE (St. James, Trinidad) relocated to #35 Patna Street in St. James giving the neighborhood a much-needed casual cafe-cum-bakery.  With the new space comes an expanded menu, dine-in seating and free Wi-Fi.  Hours are Monday – Friday: 7am – 5:30pm and Saturday: 8:30am – 3:30pm. TABLESPOON COFFEE & DESSERT HOUSE (St. Augustine, Trinidad) will reopen on April 1, 2014 with expanded hours, Monday-Saturday, 10am-6pm; Sunday, 2pm-7pm; and new vegan and gluten-free baked goods added to the menu!! We’re thrilled about this! (868) 221-8504.

PAVILI YUM (Arouca, Trinidad) opened in March 2014 serving casual fare.  Tuesdays – Saturdays, 4pm-11pm. (868) 327-5670.

SNO BIZ GULF CITY (San Fernando, Trinidad).  Sno Cones at the Mall!  Hours are Mon-Thu: 10am-7pm; Fri-Sat: 10am-8pm;  Sun: 2pm-7pm.  (868) 289-5821.

NEW MENUS

ZAZOU BISTRO MODERNE (Maraval, Trinidad) rolled out two new menus in March — a lovely Galettes & Crepes Menu for Saturdays only and a special ZaZou Bistro Prix Fixe Menu which is available daily through April 2014.

THE RUSTY BARREL (San Fernando, Trinidad) – “New additions are Tacos, Skewers, Calamari, BBQ pulled Chicken! Returning favorites like BBQ Cowheel, Whole Fried Red Snapper, Ultimate Surf and Turf and Our Whipper Snapper menu for Kids!” Link to new menu.

COMING SOON & TEMPORARY CLOSINGS

V&J BRAUHAUS RESTAURANT & BEER GARDEN (Port of Spain, Trinidad) is scheduled to reopen in May in its new location at Victoria Square,  #14-17 Ground Floor, Victoria Suites.  (868) 775 0729.

WANDA’S BELGIAN WAFFLES CAFE (Woodbrook, Trinidad) is slated to open in April 2014 on Ariapita Avenue.  (868) 354-3333.

BAREFOOT BISTRO (Woodbrook, Trinidad) is temporarily closed as it relocates to a new location.  Lunch delivery will be offered in the meantime.  Link to the post on its future plans.

PAPRIKA RESTAURANT (St. Clair, Trinidad) is temporarily closed for renovations.
