NEW RESTAURANTS, REOPENINGS & NEW MENUS IN TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

BAREFOOT BISTRO (Woodbrook, Trinidad) – Chef Ed Inglefield’s Barefoot Bistro opened in December 2013. ARNOS VALE WATERWHEEL RESTAURANT (Arnos Vale, Tobago) had a soft reopening in January 2014 and plans a “big launch for post Carnival 2014.” Link to article in The Guardian about the restaurant’s reopening and proprietor, Philip Bronte.

SOLERA WINES & SPIRITS by Angostura (St. Clair, Trinidad) opened in January 2014 featuring wines, liqueurs and Angostura rums.  Monday-Friday: 1oam-6pm; Saturday: 9am-2pm. Corner of Tragarete Road & Gray Street. (868) 622-7703.

COLD STONE CREAMERY at UWI (St. Augustine, Trinidad) opened its fourth location in Trinidad on UWI’s campus on December 6, 2013.  Monday-Friday: 11am-9pm and Saturday & Sunday: 11am-6pm. (868) 221-4127.

HIGHWAY ROTI SHOP & CAFE (Chaguanas, Trinidad) reopens on January 20, 2014 under new management.

EURASIA (Trincity Mall, Trinidad) opened in the space at Trincity Mall that was previously Bella Italia. EURASIA serves Thai and Italian dishes along with sushi. Monday-Thursday: 12pm-11pm; Friday-Saturday: 12pm-12am; Sunday: 4pm-12am. (868) 640-8955

PASCAL’S BAKERY (Arouca, Trinidad) opened a new location in Arouca at the corner of Eastern Main Road and Henry Street on January 6, 2014.

MR. HOPS (Santa Cruz, Trinidad) opened in December 2013 at Cruz One Plaza, #1 Saddle Road. (868) 676-4677. Link to more details.

CHILL CAFE – (Chaguanas, Trinidad) Serving sandwiches, cakes, pastries, hot & cold beverages, etc. CHILL CAFE opened its doors (opposite Eagle’s Chinese Restaurant on Eleanor Street) in December 2013. Monday – Saturday: 8:30am – 5:30pm and Sunday: 8:30am – 12:30pm.  (868) 495-9966 or  360-9033

MCDONALD’S (Gulf City Mall, San Fernando,  Trinidad) – McDonald’s opens its fifth location at Gulf City Mall.  Link to press release on Facebook.

SULTAN’S KITCHEN (Gulf City Mall, San Fernando, Trinidad)  opened in the Food Court.

HILLTOP RESTAURANT @TTHTI (Chaguaramas, Trinidad) reopens for the season on January 7th through February 1st, 2014.  Breakfast: 7am-10am; Lunch: 12pm-2pm; Dinner: 6:30pm-8:30pm.  Link to flyer on Facebook.

HUMZINGER – Reopens on Tuesday 14th January. NEW HOURS 6:30am – 6pm. Breakfast menu is available, order at 222-ZING or order@humzing.co.

SAN ANTONIO GREEN MARKET (Santa Cruz, Trinidad) reopens (after a short holiday break) on January 11th, 2014.

LEVELS ULTRABAR & LOUNGE (Woodbrook, Trinidad) introduced six new signature rolls.  Link to menu.

AIOLI (Maraval, Trinidad) has added a new lineup of Grilled Mediterranean Flatbreads to its lunch menu.  Link to pictures here.

ZABOUCA BREADS (Woodbrook, Trinidad) expands its opening hours from Tuesday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm.

CLOSED:

BELLA ITALIA (Trincity Mall, Trinidad) – Closed and was replaced by EURASIA.

ESCA (Port of Spain, Trinidad) – Closed on January 31, 2014.

MARBLE SLAB CREAMERY (Woodbrook, Trinidad) – Ariapita Avenue location closed in January 2014. (Gulf City Mall location is still open.)

V&J BRAUHAUS (St. Clair, Trinidad) – Closed in December 2013, stay tuned for a new location.

RICHARD’S PLACE at TTSA (Chaguaramas, Trinidad) – Closed its doors in early January 2014 and is hoping to open soon in a new location.

YOGURT LAND (West Mall, Westmoorings, Trinidad) – The West Mall location closed in December 2013.  The Price Plaza (Chaguanas) and the Trincity Mall locations remain open.

SIMPLY EDIBLE CUPCAKE SHOP (Petit Valley, Trinidad) – Closed.

COMING SOON: 

DIANNE’S TEA SHOP (Maraval, Trinidad) opening in February 2014 at #119 Long Circular Road (between Akasha Yoga Studio and Malabar Farms) and will serve traditional English tea for afternoon service and open for breakfast and lunch.

BLOOM’S IMPORTS (Port of Spain, Trinidad) announced that it’s opening a downtown location “soon.”

DRUNKEN JOE’S (Crown Point, Tobago) is a restaurant & sports bar coming soon to the Crown Point area and will serve “American cuisine” for lunch and dinner.
