Crews Inn LIGHTHOUSE RESTAURANT (Chaguaramas, Trinidad)

A few Fridays ago, we were invited to dine at Crews Inn’s LIGHTHOUSE RESTAURANT for a special Chef’s Tasting Menu.  As always, the restaurant’s fantastic waterfront ambiance grabbed the lead role while we feasted on culinary standouts like the Roast Fillet of Sea Bass over Salsa Huancaina, Saffron Pomme Purée & Macedoine Vegetables.

Sadly, due to camera issues we weren’t able to document every item on the Chef’s Table Menu, including the Lobster Carpaccio starter, which we adored (and are determined to replicate at home).

Desserts on offer that evening included a delightful Maple Poached Apples Brulee & Caramel Crème Anglaise served w/Vanilla Ice Cream.

Like a magnet, the sunset at Crew’s Inn beckoned us again and we returned on Ash Wednesday, enjoying cocktails against the backdrop of another stunning sunset.  The chef graciously prepared cutters that were perfect companions to our impromptu sunset lime.

  1. Dining at Crews Inn has always been a very delightful experience for my family and I. The food is par excellence and the service has always been up to our standard. The view is just awesome for pics. Continue to upkeep and maintain the standard!

  2. I thought I was having the pleasure of dinner at this restaurant recently and was quite disappointed.
I had the Basmati rice, Curry chicken and shrimp with Grilled vegetables and my company had the Baby back ribs with fries, Onion rings and Coleslaw.
The Curry chicken and shrimp was horrid. The chicken was rubbery and the shrimp was hard (yes hard!). My company’s “Baby Back Ribs” were neither “Baby” nor ” Falling of the bone” it took a lot of effort to chew. (We both sampled each others selections)
I managed to finish my meal because I refused to pay for something an throw it away, my company choose to take their ribs home and try to steam them until tender.
Allow me to also hastily note, the restaurant was by no means packed.
I don’t know what has happened in recent years but I certainly will not be returning for dinner!
Now that said………..The drinks were fabulous!

  5. Great Restaurant with a beautiful view especially at night and great tasting food. Service isn’t bad but can be definitely improved. The only thing is that it’s an open restaurant so you have to be prepared for files.

  6. I went recently as well an found the service to be awful. At least 4 different waiters walked by numerous times without taking a drink order. We went elsewhere to eat.

  7. Went to Crews Inn for lunch recently and I was so disappointed. I had the Mahi Mahi from the $125 lunch Prix Fixe. By the time I got it, it was cold….but besides that the entire dish wasn’t very tasty ( came with polenta and posted vegetables)
My first course was literally huge chucks of tomato tossed with olive oil and basil.
The best thing was the last course- the crime brûlée was really delicious! I’m not even a huge fan of creme brûlée but wow.
The view is great, the service wasn’t bad either.
Keep in mind since its an open location you might see a couple flies too.
