THE FISH POT (Pleasant Prospect,Tobago)

With a daily menu that changes according to the catch of the day, Tobago’s FISH POT specializes in fresh fish and seafood, paired with outstanding sides.

Not surprisingly, the fish entrees are superb and include grilled, pan-fried or jerked fish (grouper, mahi mahi, yellowfin tuna, cavalli, etc.) served with a side of salad, potato wedges or pasta.  If you go, ask for the grilled Wahoo, it’s prepared simply and paired with a curry coconut, garlic or lime sauce.

Appetizers are equally delightful with choices like the Jerk Fish & Plantains – it’s like a fish slider topped with a fried plantain instead of a roll.  THE FISH POT also offers a rich Rum Pate (liver pate spiked with rum) and a divine Tomato & Goat Cheese salad (the cheese is sourced from Orange Hill Nature Ranch‘s goat dairy, a mere twenty minutes from the restaurant).

For the serious carnivores, The Fish Pot menu includes beef entrees including a steak sandwich, steak and fries, and a housemade hamburger with cheese.

The New York Times says “a bright new spot for lunch is Fish Pot…a wood-table cafe in the hamlet of Pleasant Prospect, just up the hill from Grafton Beach, which serves simple catches of the day, like pan-fried red snapper with salad.”
