Tobago’s SHORE THINGS CAFE is lovely seaside spot offering a tasty menu and the sights and sounds of the ocean and beautiful birds.

The extensive menu includes sandwiches, salads, crepes, chili and pizzas, as well as housemade desserts like soursop ice cream, mango sorbet and a divine mocha cheesecake.  Quench your thirst with tropical juices like fresh tamarind or lime, or enjoy an alcoholic beverage.  Seasonal fruits and vegetables like avocados, mangos, breadfruit and limes are incorporated into beverages, entrees, salads and desserts.

SHORE THINGS also offers a daily local-style lunch and a Friday lunch specials (which may include beef, cow heel or vegetable soup – check Shore Things on Facebook for menu updates).

According to The New York Times, “Shore Things Crafts shop and cafe [serves] excellent smoothies and pies.”

MEP Publishers (Caribbean Beat and other publications) said, “The combination of the delicious food, friendly service, great atmosphere and beautiful shopping items makes coming here such a delight.” (Don’t miss the wonderful photographs of Shore Things Cafe in this article.)

Take the advice of Fodor’s and “survey the view from the deck tables while enjoying a variety of freshly prepared juices (the tamarind is particularly refreshing) and nibbling on excellent sandwiches. The whole-wheat pizza here may well be the best on the island.”

The Rough Guide to Trinidad & Tobago calls Shore Things, “a delightful café in a brightly painted old house with veranda overlooking the sea. Serves delicious light lunches, pizzas, pastelles, quiches and salads plus fresh pastries and fruit juices.”

  1. I’ve been visiting Shore Things occasionally for several years now. The food is delicious, the service is great, and the view is fabulous. So is its ambiance. The owner takes great care in ensuring everyone feels welcome and relaxed, and takes care in choosing local crafts that are real jewels, thus also helping the local artisan community. When in Tobago, visiting Shore Things is a must! I recommend the quiches & salad and the crepes & salad (for lunch) and the coconut cream pie for dessert. To die for!!
