Trusted reviews:

Frommer’s says “his ravioli won our hearts until we tasted his tagliatelle with lobster, made all the tastier with the use of Trinidadian capers in wine and fresh cream.  For a main course, we heartily endorse the mixed seafood grill of lobster, shrimp, and calamari, among other delights…desserts are homemade fresh daily and are luscious.  Everything is backed up by the best wine menu on the island.”

Fodor’s also has high praise for the restaurant stating that “Milanese owner Gabriele de Gaetano has created the island’s most prominent Italian eatery.”

The Rough Guide to Trinidad & Tobago says La Tartaruga is “Tobago’s best Italian restaurant, with open-air patio near the sea. The select menu features top-class cuisine, including a selection of authentic regional Italian specialties, plus an extensive wine list.”
