INTRIGUING IDEAS (Crown Point, Tobago) – Opened at the beginning of August, Intriguing Ideas brings much-needed sandwiches, salads, pizza, lasagna, specialty breads, dips & spreads, and desserts to the Crown Point area.  Crown Point Shopping Plaza (upstairs from Church’s Chicken), (868) 330-4138.  Link to Intriguing Ideas’ Facebook page.

SIMPLY EDIBLE (Petit Valley, Trinidad) – Longtime cupcake and dessert caterer, Simply Edible opened a shop in August selling their signature cupcakes and sweet treats.  Cupcake making courses also will be offered at the new Simply Edible location.  #1 Phillip Street, (868) 302-0584.  Link to Simply Edible’s Facebook Page and website.

POLLO TROPICAL (Trincity, Trinidad) – Trincity Mall is now home to a second Pollo Tropical location in Trinidad.

ARIA LOUNGE (Woodbrook, Trinidad) – The Avenue got even hotter with the opening of this new lounge, which bills itself as “a new ultra chic, trendy and luxurious sanctuary.”  Corner of Fitt Street & Ariapita Avenue, (868) 225-1654.  Link to Aria Lounge’s Facebook page.

CASCADE MINI MART (Cascade, Trinidad) – Gourmet goodies and of course everyday conveniences have arrived in Cascade courtesy of this new mini-mart.  #84 Cascade Main Road, (868) 223-5603.  Link to Cascade Mini Mart Facebook page.

GOURMET LIFE (Chaguanas, Trinidad) – Chaguanas gets another gourmet shopping option with the opening of Gourmet Life in Chaguanas.  Rodney Branch Road, (868) 225-6122.  Link to Gourmet Life Facebook page.

PLEASANT PROSPECT CAFE (Pleasant Prospect, Tobago) – Currently serving dinner only (from 6pm Tuesday-Saturday), this cute cafe (upstairs from the mini-mart, Marie’s Place) opened in early August with a simple menu of four appetizers (callaloo soup, crab stuffed avocado and seafood crepe) and about twice as many entrees including grilled mahi mahi, shrimp tempura, garlic shrimp, ribeye steak and a cafe hamburger.  P.S., The upstairs location makes this cafe a nice spot for sunset watching.  (868) 639-4409.

CAFE BRULEE & COCKTAIL BAR (St. Augustine, Trinidad) – Under new management, Cafe Brulee and had a grand reopening on July 26th.  Link to Cafe Brulee’s Facebook page.

HUMZINGER kick ass kitchen & juice bar (Maraval, Trinidad) – Humzinger spreads its wings this August bringing its awesome sandwiches, wraps, and pasta dishes and a fresh juice bar to a second location in Maraval on Saddle Road.

BLUE PRINT CHEFS’ CHERRY BAR-BQUE GRILL (San Fernando, Trinidad) – Serving take-out BBQ with their signature cheery barbecue sauce, Blue Print Chefs have moved to a new location in Sando.  RRM Plaza, High Street (868) 739-1409.  Link to Facebook page.

PITA PIT (Maraval, Trinidad) – Spotted the second location of Pita Pit (wrapped in a coming soon sign) at the Shoppes at Maraval on Saddle Road! We’re pumped because we love their pitas and the prices!  Link to Pita Pit Facebook page.

CRAVINGS CREAMERY & CAFE (Port of Spain, Trinidad) – Ice cream lovers will love this new cafe, which is scheduled to open in August and will serve up Blue Bell Ice Cream and desserts.  2nd Level (upstairs from Pollo Tropical) #28-29 Queen’s Park West (corner of Picton Street and Savannah).

JOSHUA’S ON THE CORNER (Port of Spain, Trinidad) – One of our favourite bloggers, Introvertly Bubbly spotted this new restaurant on the corner of Tragarete and Maraval, can’t wait to learn more about it.

CLOSINGS:

CHAUD CREOLE (St. Anns, Trinidad) – Announced their closing on August 23rd in this email.

Phillips Gourmet to Go (Maraval, Trinidad) – Unfortunately, this location of Phillip’s in Ellerslie Plaza seemed to close as quickly as it opened.

  1. The horror!! I am in detox so all this foodie goodness is too much for my senses. But, Luce – finally! Been hearing about this place opening forever now. So it was not an urban legend after all.
