There are tons of great events this month in Trinidad & Tobago for food lovers!

Experience the sweet hand of QRC’s Old Boys at their annual Chefs Royal, beat the heat at T&T’s first Ice Cream Festival and enjoy libations at several rum, wine and champagne tastings.

You also can try your hand at sushi making or bread and muffin baking, find a cooking camp for the kids, learn organic gardening and enjoy a spot of tea at Ortinola Great House.

Also, UpMarket is back on Sunday, July 14th and the Tobago Heritage Food Fair (a part of the Tobago Heritage Festival) is on Friday, July 19th.

SUNDAY, JULY 27, 7pm-10pm CHEFS ROYAL at QRC (Port of Spain, Trinidad).  “The Queen’s Royal College Old Boys’ Association (OBA) will host its popular fundraiser, Chefs Royal, at the College grounds. Now in its 15th year, this event has become a favourite on the calendar of connoisseurs of fine dining and good company.”  A wide selection of meat, seafood and vegetarian dishes will be served by QRC Alumni and  chefs from St. Mary’s Past Student Union, Fatima Old Boys Association, St. Francois and Holy Name are expected to participate. A complimentary bar will be well stocked with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for our patrons, in addition to a variety of live entertainment.”  Tickets are $350.  Link to event page.  $

FREE FOOD-RELATED CLASSES IN TRINIDAD:  Ministry of Food Production (Agriculture Now) Farmers Training Centre’s FREE TRAINING COURSES: July 2013 courses include Home Gardening; Citrus Production; Sheep & Goat Production, and more. SUNDAY, JULY 21 – T&T ICE CREAM FESTIVAL – SUNDAE FEST at Hasely Crawford Stadium’s Training Grounds (Port of Spain, Trinidad).  Sundae Fest is centered on family, friends, fun and Ice Cream and will expose Ice Cream lovers to major local and international ice cream brands via free samples and ice cream for sale. Tuesday, July 23, starts at 10am, FROM CAP’N TO COOK (Tobago Heritage Festival) at Castara Bay (Castara, Tobago).  Join the Castara village for a day of fishing and cooking.

Tuesday, July 23, 5pm-7pm, CHAMPAGNE & PROSECCO TASTING at Lotus Wares (Maraval, Trinidad). “Come join us for comparative tasting of Champagnes and Proseccos (paired with light appetizers).”  Session is conducted by Lisa Johnstone.
