Located in Crown Point, THE PASTA GALLERY is a welcome addition to Tobago’s dining scene serving up hearty Italian pasta dishes.
The restaurant is a colorful ode to minimalism, warmed up with yellow, green and purple washed walls and handmade furniture. All this colour is beautifully punctuated by the original paintings and drawings of local professional artists, Rachael Heusner Superville and Claire Ceppi.
THE PASTA GALLERY‘s pared-down menu covers all the bases with starters like Tomato Bruschetta & Garlic Bread, House Salad and Mixed Vegetable Salad, and a seasonal Avocado Salad. Entrees include the Tagliatelle w/Shrimp; Spaghetti w/Mixed Seafood; Fettuccine Alfredo w/Ham; Spaghetti w/Bolognese Meat Sauce; Spaghetti w/Bacon & Onions; and Vegetable Lasagna and Meat Lasagna.
We started our meal with House Salads and the Tomato Bruschetta, which hit the spot with its fresh tomatoes and basil. The salads were equally pleasing, enlivened by the surprising addition of capers and red beans. Next up were the Fettuccine Alfredo w/Chicken and the Vegetable and Meat Lasagnas, which were excellent. Local pak choi was actually incorporated in the Vegetable Lasagna, giving it a distinctly bold flavor — think of it as lasagna with personality.
We finished up with scoops of locally-made chocolate gelato. We all vowed to return as THE PASTA GALLERY is a must, especially for Tobago residents or Trinidadian visitors seeking a refreshingly simple (and artistic) restaurant ambiance and an alternative to local Creole-style food.
