Trinidad & Tobago’s Newsday says “La Cantina…is as close to authentic Italian pizza as it can possibly get on a tropical island. So alluring is the pizza that many local fans of La Cantina have been known to make the trip between both islands just to have a slice of Italy for dinner.”

Pizza was very good, but I was disappointed by one thing. I ordered the Funghi pizza and unfortunately it was all canned mushrooms. I don’t see the purpose of canned mushrooms on any pizza, as it doesn’t have or add any kind of taste to it. It’s like eating rubber. A carton of mushrooms cost approx $25TTD and have enough to top 3-4 pizzas. I would happily pay an extra $10TTD just to get fresh muchrooms on my pizza.
